Every time I tell people I keep a blog, they assume it’s a newsletter with a growth strategy. It isn’t. It’s a garden — small, slightly pixelated, and growing at whatever pace it wants.

I’ve spent years building things for other people: APIs, dashboards, pipelines, the usual furniture of the web. Somewhere along the way I started keeping a second, quieter habit — writing poems in the terminal between deploys, and listening to the same five artists on loop until the code starts to sound like them. The 1975 when I need something sincere. FKA twigs when I need something strange. Ben Howard when the deploy breaks and I need to feel calm about it.

This site is where those two lives meet.

Why static

I could have set up a database, a CMS, a comments system, an analytics suite. Instead I chose Hugo — a folder of markdown files and a theme that renders in milliseconds. There’s a certain poetry in that: no servers to wake up, no JavaScript to apologize for, just text and a build step.

What grows here

• me/ — the things I like, dislike, and do when no one is watching

Nothing here is scheduled. Nothing here is optimized. If you found this page, you’re probably the kind of person who reads footnotes — and this garden was planted for you.
